Minister for Children and Families
It is our honor and privilege to introduce our new Minister for Children and Families at RUCC. Rev. T. Michael Rock has known Mimi Goodwin for several years as a passionate supporter of Justice, Peace, Indigenous Rights, Children and Youth, and the prophetic role of the church. Please welcome Mimi when you meet her and open your heart to her gifts.
A note from Mimi:
Each time I participate at Robbinsdale UCC events, I see your extravagant welcome. I am delighted to join you as Minister For Children and Families! My professional and volunteer experience with children and families is in child care centers, schools, churches, hospitals, recovery programs, church camps and community art making gatherings. My educational training includes a Masters of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC and Bachelors Degree in Family Studies from the University of New Hampshire. I was raised in the United Church of Christ and deeply respect our denomination. For me, ministry is creating ongoing relationships. Moment by moment we honor each person’s dignity. We celebrate the many ways God and Jesus are with us. We care for creation’s many gifts. We build community where there is room for our questions, our joys and concerns. We work together loving kindness and doing justice. AND we gather together for fun times too! My first day at RUCC will be Wednesday March 7. On Sunday March 11, I begin being with you each Sunday.
I am curious to hear your stories, share stories with you and create new stories together.
May Spirit continue to guide us as we experience hope, faith, love, equality, compassion and meaning.
