Robbinsdale UCC worship reflects our Protestant heritage, ecumenical commitments, and openness to the variety of religious traditions represented by our members. Music, prayer, scriptures, and preaching are important parts of our worship, giving breadth, depth, and direction to our spiritual development.
Lay members are encouraged to participate in the leadership of worship and development of our liturgies.
Worship Schedule
• Worship service at 10:00 a.m.
• Bible Adventures for children age 3 years through 5th grade from 10:20 – 11:15 on Sunday morning.
• Summer Adventures for children 3 years through 2nd grade during the months of June through August.
• Refreshments after Worship in the Gathering Space
• Nursery/Toddler care on Sunday
• Holy communion celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
Holy Communion
Through participation in worship and the sacrament of holy communion, individuals are strengthened and nurtured by the grace of God and the community of the church. RUCC offers an “open table,” welcoming all to share the gifts of bread and cup.
Baptism
Baptism is a sacrament. It initiates an individual’s participation into the fellowship and ministry of the church. It is an act of welcome as RUCC, assembled in worship, affirms the uniqueness of the individual being baptized. When young children are brought to be baptized, it is an act of commitment on the part of parents, sponsors, and the congregation together to raise the child in a Christian environment and to nurture a living faith.
Membership
Robbinsdale UCC offers meetings several times a year for people who are considering joining the congregation and would like to learn more about Robbinsdale UCC. Participants meet to informally consider their faith journeys and to become acquainted with specific programs and opportunities within our congregation. T. Michael Rock, our senior pastor, and representatives of Robbinsdale UCC’s ministries share information about programs, answer questions and discuss the expectations and responsibilities of church members. Invitations to join Robbinsdale UCC are issued through the church newsletter, The Mustard Seed, and bulletin announcements.
New members are received on the 1st Sunday in November, the 1st Sunday in February and the 1st Sunday in May. There are three ways of joining Robbinsdale UCC:
• Affirmation of Faith – joining a church for the first time or after a long absence without church membership
• Letter of Transfer – transferring your membership from your former church, with a letter to your church asking them to release you from membership.
• Baptism.
